Well it was just a matter of time until I started to talk about this. First off, go look at it in detail here:

Now, this logo. This bloody logo. Many people have looked at it, and have either had no opinion on it, or if they had an opinion on it, then its pretty much 50/50 in its appreciation. Mainly, “designers” around Belfast, and beyond are saying, they hate it or are finding some negative comment about it, because that’s what designers do best with other peoples work.

Now, to get the nice things out of the way, I don’t mind how this logo looks, its a nice symbol, and much better than what we have had before.

Ok, thats the nice things done then.

What is with the words? Be Safe. Be Inspired. Be Welcome.

Be Witty?

I think besides the fact that its a giant B (really pushing the boat out there guys), there is nothing really much to the logo. The makings of a great logo are the fact that it is instantly recognisable, with a high degree of impact and useful in assorted stationary and beyond. So, taking this on board, I can imagine the guys that made it saying,

Designer 1 - “Am, lets just make it a giant B?”.

Boss - “Great, lets break for another espesso”.

Ridiculous. And, I have saved the best till last. ITS COPIED!
